Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge on US Cellular Heads to Android 6.0 Marshmallow Testing



Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge units of US Cellular is heading to the testing stage of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software, a single step away from the official release. According to an official list of Samsung Galaxy's Marshmallow upgrades, the American mobile carrier will be doing lab testing for the upgrade in November to evaluate its performance.


US Cellular models of Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is currently in manufacturer development stage wherein the telecom company has come to terms with the South Korean giant to back the biggest upgrade in Android history. According to the roadmap plans of US Cellular, Galaxy S6 Edge will proceed to the testing stage wherein the mobile carrier will incorporate its own software update with Google's new build.


Android 6.0 Marshmallow software's development phase is expected to finish off in November and will proceed directly to testing. Here, the supersized smartphone will undergo a certification process from US Cellular to guarantee Marshmallow's finest software experience. This is expected to be finished in two weeks.

The official release will come if the performance evaluation of the new build is conducted successful. However, the release date will only begin per carrier's discretion and the device's location.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade will be rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge units of US Cellular with model number SM-G925R4. One-half of Galaxy S6 Edge units on US Cellular run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop while the other half runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

The Marshmallow software brings a plethora of new features and enhancements.

Google Now comes with Now on Tap, a smarter version of the app which offers more suggestions, reviews, information in restaurants, map locations, and many more. Activate the new app by press holding the home button until it pops up.

Improvements also include an easy access to Voice Action from the lock screen. Do this by simply swiping from the left corner to activate the technology. The user interface also brings more fluid animations, plus banner notifications.
